Confrontation can be difficult.  It is especially difficult if you must confront someone you know and love.  It is also difficult to confront your SELF… often we are simply blind to the things that we do which are wrong.  That is why we have GOD’S WORD!  It becomes our true and trusted guide and rule for life!  When we need to confront someone on their sin, if we are speaking according to Scripture, the Truth of God, then it is the Lord which convicts & confronts, not us.  Likewise, if someone confronts us, it is the Word of the Lord that is speaking – not them.

This Wednesday in our prayer time, we used Psalm 1 in our meditation.  To me, Psalm 1 seems perfect for this issue of Confrontation.  Clearly, it is our desire to DELIGHT in the LAW of the LORD.  That Psalm is printed below for your reference.  May it be our guide when we need to confront either someone else or our own selves regarding to sin.

1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers. 4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Yours in Christ,
